Well, FTDNA did it again: they lost (at least) one of my former matches! Are they trying to thwart me in finding out my ancestry? I just now happened to try to compare two matches on the chromosome browser; two old ones. And one is now missing. They matched on chromosome #9. The missing one had a surname of Bennett, and is no longer in my list of matches. And they still owe me two way overdue tests.Last edited by PDHOTLEN; 10 August 2012, 09:18 PM.

My mother got 6
I got 6
My father got 2
My cousin got 3
There is some overlap, of course. One of my father's is a predicted 2nd cousin to him and a predicted 4th cousin to both me and my cousin. The name isn't familiar, but it is Italian.
One person matches both my mother and myself at 3rd cousin level.
One strange thing is a few cousins we've had for many months are showing up as new!

107 new matches, but some old ones may have disappeared since I think that the total went up only about 70. I did get what probably is my least likely second cousin with 170.75 and 7.96 totals. 7.96 is the shortest longest block of any supposed second cousin in my list.

It would be good if FT explained what they did. I had downloaded my FF list and my brother's on 8/7. Tonight, 2 people have been removed from my brother's list and the largest and total cM of 6 people have been changed. On my list, no removals but data changes in 5 people. The data changes resulted in the person's position in the main list being moved, had to hunt. Have not yet looked at the segments themselves to see if only length has changed or if segments have actually been added or removed. And my brother had 7 new matches, I had 5.

I have strange dates for some of my matches too. I have one NEW match who has a date of 7-6-11. I have some other ones that are dated more recent, and they have been my matches for longer than the new match date. Also, I was checking my new matches using the ICW tool, and it stopped working. Another thing I noticed is that the total cM on some of my matches has changed, some decreased a little bit, and a few increased. The longest block numbers appear to have remained the same.
I did get 5 new matches though!

I have a net gain of 15 matches; five disappeared, but 20 new ones showed up. I also noticed that that some of my matches got promoted in the rankings due to changes in shared cM and Longest Block. I'm assuming that FTDNA has changed their calculations and that hopefully, the changes are an improvement.
The match dates of the new matches vary widely, some going all the way back to the date of my initial results. Only four of them were dated 8/10.

I am only partially through the project, but 7 matches on chromosome 9 changed quite a bit.
