Family Finder cousins?

I would like to know how come of I have 3rd or 4th cousins with less shared CM than some 5th cousins with more shared CM ( than the 4th cousins )

I believe segment sizes and number of segments larger then 7cM/500SNPs come into play determining cousin range more so then total cM

A lot of smaller segments, which push up cM Total, will be IBS (Identical by state, false positive)
