When FTDNA states you have a common ancestor within 4 generations, which generation is the beginning generation? Is it the generation of the youngest participant, or the oldest? In my case the matching participant is one generation younger than I am. Should I count from his generation, or mine? It would be helpful if Family Tree would explain that on the Y-DNA TiP Report page.
Maybe I am overlooking something.
