Normal to have 4000+ matches at 12 markers

Is it normal to have 4000 + matches when my first 12 markers came in?

I am assuming that will get cut down when my second set come in and even more so when my 3rd set come in

Well, all 4000 of those people have 4000 matches...

In seriousness... yes, it's normal for certain groups of people, often those in haplogroup R-M269. And the list will definitely be narrowed as you compare more markers.

Thanks, I was pretty sure it would drop down, seeing as there is only about 10 with my surname.

Also you are right on the mark with the haplogroup.
