Help needed for interpreting Y-DNA results - German and Scandinavian ancestry

Hi all,

I'm hoping I can get some help regarding my Y-DNA results and how they compare to Gedmatch and MyOrigins. I was confused as to why I kept getting German on most of the Gedmatch calculators and it appears to be a high proportion on MyOrigins also (assuming it's most European Coastal Plain), so I thought a haplogroup might make sense of it all.

I ordered the Y-DNA37 marker test and my predicted haplogroup is R-M269 R1b. The migration maps do add weight to the German result but I'm curious if MyOrigins over exaggerates the percentage as I have no paper trail of German ancestry on my paternal side in the last 200 or so years so I though it would be less unless of course my maternal side also has German going back a certain distance. This might also include the Dutch result I get on Eurogenes.

I also assume Scandinavian is present but don't know why MyOrigins has such a high percentage unless some English has crossed over into it and whether to assume Danish is the correct result.

I should also mention my known recent ancestry is Croatian, Polish, English, Scottish, Irish and Maori (which is very low on Gedmatch).
