    Hello,
    Is there a free 3rd party software that I could upload a genome to that was processed by AncestryDNA that would provide the Y-DNA haplogroup?

    Google Whit Athey haplogroup predictor. It's very accurate.

      Are you referring to the 800-some Y SNPs on the autosomal test?

      FTDNA doesn't report any of those SNPs in the off-the-shelf Illumina chip, and now that I've seen some raw data from AncestryDNA, I can understand why. Bottom line, the Y SNPs in the AncestryDNA file aren't very useful for determining a haplogroup. I wrote about that in some detail on the forum at Ancestry.
