Latest Y-700 batches

I received my results on Batch 1183 kit 276725. I had upgraded from Y500 to Y700. Initially I was told I would have to submit a new sample, which I did. When I got my results back my SNP was unchanged - FGC69357. Can someone explain to me why my SNP didn't change? Is it possible the Test hasn't actually been done?

We routinely list the number of results we are waiting for on our surname project online meeting room, and just today I noticed that kit pages are no longer getting the blue "PENDING-check the status" phrase where there used to be an estimated date for a kit. Now we get a generic timeframe with no reference to the individual kit's order receipt. The site seems to be "dumbing down" in accountability to the users for estimating their waiting times, since there was already confusion about the time between Completion Date of a batch and the posting of results. The "Track DNA Test" graphic mentioned above does not fill the same purpose. Pretty graphics do not substitute for explanations or estimations. (Our latest request is batched 1200 using an existing sample.)

Yikes! Yes, there is a completion date (6th May), but in the Y-STR results section everything from 112 onwards says awaiting results. Plus my haplogroup so far only goes up to a predicted (not confirmed) i2a1 so I'm assuming that for a Big Y that couldn't possibly be complete.

This has been a weird experience so far in that I got the 111 results in only 3 weeks, which was far less than I expected.

According to FTDNA the current turnaround times for Y-DNA STR results is 3 to 6 weeks and the Big Y is 12 to 14 weeks. If you go to your main home page and look under "Big Y" if results aren't in yet there will be a "Track DNA Test" graphic showing with check marks showing the kit's progress. If Big Y is completed there will be a completed date along with the categories of results underneath that. You will know your results are about to be loaded when the Haplogroup changes from a predicted to a confirmed haplogroup. That said it seems early for your kit to have Big Y results. If you're not sure about your kit's status contact customer service.

Nothing unusual. The Big Y date will update once the Big Y section is completed. It obviously hasn't completed yet. They use the y111 date initially for some reason. It could take months or a few weeks. Just be patient.

I'm a little concerned because my Big Y kit, which is in batch 1187, says "completed" in my order history, but currently I only have results up to 111. Is this usual?

Yes that's normal assuming there is no date next to where it says "Completed". When the test is completed there will be a date there not an empty box.

I'm waiting the results for a kit int the batch 1147, batched on 11/30/2020. Deeply frustrated.

I'm relieved and happy because results came in today.

My Big Y results in 1166 failed due to quality control check, they send me an email upon my inquiry that it is rescheduled for a rerun and expected in mid July 2021 instead of the original 28th April.

Do they do it on weekly basis? If it is weekly then 1166 shall be uploaded in coming two weeks.

Kits in the same batch don't always finish at the same time, it may also take longer, but it could be ready in two weeks if there are no problems.

Good to hear it. I am still waiting for Batch # 1166. Hope it will come soon.
