Once they clear the backlog generated by the changeover. They're still hoping to have an upgrade option worked out by the middle of this month.

edit to add: It isn't actually an upgrade, it will be a complete retest.

I have had confirmation my batch 916 has been checked into the lab, but results could be still some time away.

I know of a kit that was from batch 928 (Dec 31) with results posted on March 7. It had 16 Unnamed Variants, though now it is down to 15. Others in this same haplogroup have no more than 2. Though given that it is the first Big Y700 from this subclade, some could still be shared with the other Big Y500 matches. Another kit from batch 926 (Dec 24) is still waiting for results.

A week ago my father had 78 private/unnamed variants on his Y700, while I have 8 on my Y500 test.

He had 75 unnamed variants as of Friday afternoon. As of this posting, I just checked again and he's down to 35 of them. I guess somebody's been working through the weekend.

Hate to break it to you, I'm BigY500 tested. I have 8 unnamed variants. My father is Y700 tested, as disclosed earlier. As of earlier his evening, he's still sitting on 35 unnamed variants, unchanged from the 9th.

My comment on unnamed variants was for that specific tester I mentioned from Batch 926, not about all Big Y500 testers. I'm Big Y500 tested and I have 48 unnamed variants.

That wasn't how I read it. Now that I know that wasn't how you meant it, I'm satisfied.

Like silverhammernz I ordered a Y500 test mid-November which was upgraded to a Y700 and is batch 916. They used my original kit, so no new kit was needed. The results have been delayed 5 times since January. Current expected completion date is 4/8 to 4/22.
