  • Latest Y-700 batches

Please post your batch if you are waiting for results, and also (if you can drag yourself away from your results for a moment!) update to let us know when your test was completed and which batch. Currently waiting for Batch 919 here.

Father was Batch 924(Ordered in August), sponsored another kit that was in batch 925(ordered in November). Both kits completed Y-700 Thursday

Sadly the batch 925 kit is not related on the Y-DNA side anytime in the past 5,000 years or so even with the atDNA + surname match. Skipping Y-37/Y-67 proved costly, but we definitely know one line that he isn't biologically related to us on.

Edit to add: I have to wonder on when they "unofficially switched" the lines over vs the "official" change. All kinds of variables in play there. But given batch 924 batched 12/17 and finishing 2/21 would suggest a roughly 8 week process.. They could have been on the new process from the start. Although that leaves open the question on FTDNA saying results were supposed to start coming back 2 weeks ago.

Do you know this because they've told you by e-mail, or did you find out when a new testing kit arriving in the mail?

I was advised mid January by email that my original sample wasn't up to it and they would send a new kit. I am in New Zealand so it took a while to arrive. I think I posted it back about Feb 5th, however I never had a "Kit Sent/received" notification so I am not 100% sure they actually have it back or when they received it if they did. My batch number never changed, and the estimated times for completion on my page haven't changed since they first appeared..02/25/2019 - 03/11/2019. So, may be any day?? Would that scenario have held up others in 916?

Ok my completion dates have been updated.. 11th March - 25th March. I will take that as a sign FTDNA have received my kit back.

I figured from your user name that you're in NZ on this crisp clear morning.

Results arrived for my kit in Batch 919 a couple of hrs ago

Replacement kit has obviously held things up. I will just have to hang in there.

Batch 915 (batched 14 Nov 2018) completed today. Originally expected end of Jan, postponed a couple of times – most recently to 6-20/3/19 – but extremely happy that the results came back today.

You might also want to check the Current Y-DNA batch# ? thread out.

That's probably an auto-fire script and likely has little to no actual bearing as to the status of your test.

On another note, my Father received his results last week, nothing particularly noteworthy there, went from GD2 at Y37 to +1 additional GD on the Y500 panel(since I'm not on the Y700 panel). Which results in a somewhat predictable SNP difference of 3 on the BigY Match List at this time. (At least until it gets updated for Y700)

But checking the block viewer this morning after some other project members gave very vague reports of "BigY complete" without placement info, I discovered that the branch we're by ourselves on(after I split a previous;y established SNP) jumped from 8 private variants to 34 private variants. The Block viewer still only reports two people in that branch, the public tree only shows two people as well. So I'm guessing they either had one heck of a mis-match they're sorting out, or they're just now starting to work Y700 SNP results into the Y-DNA tree, and they're still trying to figure out where a lot of them go. Looks like more than a few trees on the Y-DNA side may be reshuffling in the weeks ahead as they start figuring out where those 50-ish new markers belong.

Edit to add: It also seems the 30 marker limit applies to only Y500 results right now, I don't think they're counting the new Y700 markers into that limitation at this time, as the BigY Match list only claims the 3 SNP difference all the same.

The people posting results for Y700 to date had submitted them as Y500 kits.
