  • Useless "New Big Y Matches"

Is there any way to limit the notices about "we found a new Big Y match" that seem to appear in my e-mails several times a day? None, actually none, of these matches are meaningful, not a one shares my terminal SNP, so they are not matches within a genealogical meaningful timeframe. In fact, the great majority are separated from me by at least 3 or 4 nodes on the haplotree. They must have diverged from my branch centuries before permanent surnames became fashionable and widespread in Scotland.

Just turn off email notifications and do a manual match check when you're good and ready.

      Why Oh Why???

Too bad FTDNA thinks seeing matches and getting match emails should be tied together.
