  • Shared reference "novel variants"

I have two kits with Big Y matches now. I'm aware of most of the limitations of Big Y matching, but one thing I do not understand is why some matches count and list under "Shared Novel Variants", SNPs for which the genotype is the *reference*, not derived. Other matches do *not* list or count these (though presumably they also possess the reference genotype).

What gives? Just some weird noise due to a bug?
