  • BAM file raw data

Hi I was wondering once you open up the BAM file, (I did so by using a device called tablet) it gives you positions within the BAM file. My question is if these positions match up with known SNP's does that mean you are positive for those SNP's?

BAM files are created against a specific reference build. The positions of known variants may change from build to build as the underlying reference sequence is refined. For positions of known variants look up the name at ybrowse.org and then check the position in your BigY BAM file.
