BAM file generation shut off at least temporarily

Will people who had requested the files before the shutdown receive them without a new request or have to start over again?

That is unknown at this time. Once it is back, someone will say something to let the rest of us know.

In case anyone was subscribed to this thread. BAM files are back. No idea if you still need to manually request them as the only kit I have with a Big Y test already has the Download BAM button there from before. The customer support form does have a category for Big Y BAM Request.

Typical of FTDNA, they didn't let anyone know. People just found out on their own.
