  • BigY: 17 weeks !

    ordered 11/27/2014
    Expected 03/11/2015

    Why does it takes so long ?
    Did you have the same experience ?
    I just don't understand why this has been postponed several times without sending a new kit and no answer from helpdesk...

    Yes, very similar Big Y experience. Actual dates are:
    • Ordered 2014-11-05
    • Received By Lab 2014-11-20 (estimated), batch 596
    • Expected to be completed between 2015-01-08 and 2015-01-22, no result yet.
    W.

    P.S.
    Working with biological material is not as nicely predictable as repairing a car .

      I wonder how long the actual test takes after they finally start.

        A data point:

        Big Y (DNA already extracted):
        * Received By Lab 2014-12-26, batch 601
        * Completed 2015-02-03

        W.

        P.S.
        The test that is taking longer is from DNA that was stored twice as long (almost 5 years) than the one that completed (above). I am assuming that it is being rerun until DNA sample gets exhausted.
