On sale at $460 until April 26th

Now is an ideal time to get Big Y. It's the best thing you can do for breaking through genealogical brickwalls on your paternal lineages. The $465 is a full 20% discount off the regular $575 price.

FTDNA doesn't comment on internal costs, but two competitors of theirs indicate that the "enrichment" cost of each Big Y test is about $400 so they can't be making much money on this.

We have reached critical mass in the R1b subclades. Penetration rates run in the 30% range for members of the large R1b haplogroup subclade projects. One, subclade, R1b-DF19 has a 69% penetration of Big Y results. That's outstanding and will pay off dividends in unveiling our Y tree of paternal lineages from ancient times down to the last 100 years or so.

I send these to Alex Williamson when I get them and so these are included with other synonyms (as applicable) on the Big Tree. This is a great resources for Big Y testers who are R1b-P312 (S116) of any type, be it U152, L21, DF19, DF99, L238, DF27, M222, etc.

I was aware of the site and had searched http://ytree.net/SNPIndex.php before my previous post but I didn't mention the site since I didn't know if he is a P312 person or not. I just searched for BY4246 again and 23073902-A-T, for the first time, and they still aren't listed at http://ytree.net/SNPIndex.php

The bad news is this was in the list I just sent Alex an hour or so ago.
The good news is that FTDNA is being very responsive in terms of R1b-L2 SNP Pack requirements. This was a late add request for this brand new SNP Pack as of this Tuesday. They quickly named and added it to the pack, although they won't guarantee it since it has not gone through the normal product development validation steps.
