  • Number of known snps changed on Big Y page

I had 629 known (derived) snps before today. Now I have 575. The Novel Variants are still 97. Are they reviewing the data??

If the average number of SNPs for everyone who has taken the Big-Y is 600 SNPs and Y-Adam lived 200,000 ybp then that should be one SNP every 333 years.Has anyone any thoughts about this?

When I received my results I had 661 derived SNPs, yesterday it was 587 and today it is 585. I am not sure if it is an IT glitch or FTDNA is already refining results. If it is FTDNA refining results it would be nice if we were notified.

            Hi,

If you tell me which ones have gone missing for you, I can get back to you one the reasons. I know we have removed a few unreliable SNPs and some that are not really SNPs at all.

I will get you a list on the missing SNPs shortly. Does that mean that FTDNA will be updating the BED, VCF and BAM files as well?
