New and Revised K Subclades in PhyloTree Build 13

Yes sir...like the lady said...I appreciate it.. Looks as if you and I may have ancestors from the same area...Since I too am most likely a K1c2... do you have any idea what geographic location K1c2 originates from..or is the greatest % of the population ?

Hi. Looking at the Google map on the K Project at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/...?section=mtmap it appears that K1c2 originated around Germany or Poland. In contrast, sister subclade K1c1 is found much further south and east, with one shown in Eastern Turkey. Looking at the K1c2 full-sequences, I see one listing Austria. There is one Avar in an unpublished sequence. And Dr. Behar found a Moroccan Jewish K1c2, whose ancestor was probably expelled from Iberia in the 16th century. I see outliers in many different subclades, so I'll stick to Germany/Poland for now. The biggest concentration is in the British Isles, which in the FTDNA database is common in many subclades.
