          I have an age estimate for U5b2b1a1 of about 7000 years based on 17 samples in the U5 project and GenBank. U5b2b1a1 is widely distributed across northern Europe, including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Poland and with one sample each from Norway and Spain. It seems likely U5b2b originated in an LGM refuge in the Franco-Cantabrian region or Italy
