I found out why I only have 1 match on my uncles MTDNA Plus. I have 2 heteroplasmies.

Do you think doing an mtDNA full sequence will bring up more results?

Also any information on what is means having 2 Heteroplasmies?

This would be my fathers mothers line from Germany.

Yes, the matching rules for full sequences will get you past the heteroplasmy. However, it will also eliminate potential matches who have not also tested at that level. What are you trying to learn from your uncle's results?

Thanks for replying and for the link.

So does heteroplasmy mean that my Grandmothers MTDNA is mutating still?

I am hoping to find out where they were from in Germany and the much older roots of where this line originated. I have zero information on this line in my tree and I have looked everywhere. All I know is that they were from Germany according to their records here in the states.

I only have one match now so I would like more closer matches, ancestry info and and to get the set haplogroup.
