FTDNA seems to have finally modified the code that creates maps on the Y Results pages and mtDNA Results pages of the public project websites.

The maps now include only the results shown in the results tables, which is a huge improvement over prior behavior.

If you had removed the maps (as I had), it is now safe to add them back.

Yep, this has been fixed for a little while now. I noticed it a month ago, maybe a little longer. I was also glad to have it fixed.

FYI for others -- this is in reference to dual geographical projects. A man might have both Y-DNA and mtDNA results, with only one applying to the particular geographical project. The project admin has the option to hide the irrelevant results from the public charts. The corresponding pins should also have been hidden from the public maps, but unfortunately they were showing up regardless of the settings. This has now been fixed.

It just goes to show how slow I am sometimes!

      Oh well, even a stopped clock . . . .

I only noticed because I kept the maps active for my project
