Not at all what I hoped for. I'm a Celt with a little bit of other stuff in the mix. My family is from Lancashire with a Scottish mother so can't expect anything else? Any ideas on the Middle Eastern? Could this be an indication of Roman origins? .... I hope.
It could be Jewish ancestry due to the expulsion from Portugal in 1496 upload to Gedmatch and check to see if you have any Portuguese, Brazilian, Jewish, Mexican, Puerto Rican matches.

I am late to the game and just stumbled upon this study of Celtic Britons, et al. It is comprehensive and fascinating material. It would also be a good resource for a student's school project.

Your labour of love in compiling and sharing this is appreciated.

A study of the Celts has just been added to the Continuing Education program at Oxford University, England.

            Thanks for your opinion.

Thank you for your comment, Marietta.

My origin is Anglo or English and moreover show much interest in English as well as by the Celts.

The Celts are cousins of the English (Angles). The British Celts arise from the migrations of the Celtiberians who built boats for a few centuries and moved to the British Isles.

By this reason exists much similar between them British with them Iberian, especially with the Galician and Asturian as well as the Portuguese. There is also a similarity with the Bretons (Brittany -in France-).

The Basque language or called Euskera, it's the genesis of the languages that are Welsh, Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic and the Manx language (called or named Goidelic languages).

In relation to the English are anglo in the majority of cases, but is also the origin of the Jutes/Jutish (Danish origin), Saxon (Germanic origin) and Viking (Scandinavian origin).

The British are cousins of the current Germans, Austrians, Swedes, Danes/Danish, Norwegians and are also cousins of the Celtic (Irish, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, the people of the Isle of Man, the Galician, the Bretons and The Basques, they are considered as Proto-Celtic or Pre-Celts, i.e. the primitive Celts of continental Europe).

                Celts U152-S47

We have a small group (~20) FamilyTree customers that have very similar STR marker values and cross 8 Family names (Breedlove, Newton, Hoskins, Grant, Johnson, Fraser, Morris and Taylor). Two of us have tested with the Z43 pack to be S47. Suggestions are that we will all test at that level.
However, we have not uncovered a British Isles connection whose line is still in the Old World. We are largely Americans. S-47 is Celt out of NW Italy. We do not know how we got to Britain ... Belgae, Roman legions, or ??? But I am very interested in following the forum and perhaps someday connecting part of our genetic line back in Europe.

I can trace my paternal line back to the 1500's in Lancashire England. With a possible line back earlier due to land ownership. Also my surname is taken from the place where we lived. I am Z46>BY3949. Z46 being like S47 one step down from Z43. I have Breedlove, Newton, Fraser and Johnson as matches. We both descend from U152>Z56, which I understand is the more Italian of U152, and rare outside of Italy.
