  • I M26: The Green Man?

Shrouded in the mists of prehistory as the ice melted and receded, the I-M26 Clan, history's first artists, sprang up in western most Europe, from the Iberian refuge, and spread out along the coast lines. These seafarers were also cave painters and the ancient megalith builders. In the age of stone, before the farmers came, before the Doggerland sank beneath the waves, before Avalon became an Island, the I-M26 Clan fished the coast line and rivers, and hunted on the grass land. They watched the trees come again as the ice fled away. They feasted on red deer and hazelnuts. They watched from the forest as the newcomers arrived. They were the face of the Green Man from long ago.

There may be something to at least some of that. The only y-dna successfully obtained thus far from a megalithic tomb was I-M26, from the Dolmen of La Pierre Fritte, France, west of Paris. Two sets of remains were successfully tested, and both were I-M26 (predicted from STRs).

The scientists should dna test the 33,000 year old remains of the "Red Lady of Paviland" to find out the ancient autosomal dna of northern Europeans.

That is my Faunt Fant Font maternal line I2a1 which are
I-M26 and P37.2. It is the one called "Sardinian". My cousin has this PF4088 testing and is negative for F1295.

They are expecting it to stay in the Sardinian group I think. They came to Ireland with the Norman kings, in Shropshire c. 1218 and Kildare and Limerick in 1250s.

That group which is found in the Neolithic caves in Aveyron France, the midi Pyrenees. A fair amount of men in Pyrenees carry it although not as many as in Sardinia.

No Doggerland there.. They were likely always mercenaries and only politically Normans. My great Grandfather was born in Limerick, others were in US much earlier.
