If they have teeth perhaps they can extract some DNA from that. The problem would be whether or not the DNA was degraded from being burned and if they could get a big enough sample. I read some reports on DNA analysis of Kennewick Man and they weren't able to get a large enough sample to have conclusive results. However they were able to get mtDNA results from Utzi (sp) the frozen corpse they found in the Alps.

I've never been to Stonehenge but always thought it was creepy. Turns out it was a cemetery.

This would only tell MTDNA.

Not so.

Y-DNA and Autosomnal-DNA has been sucessfully extracted from 3,000 year old skeletal remains.

With the latest developments at Stonehenge and the Stonehenge Riverside Project involving Parker Pearson and the finding of so many cremated human remains, it would certainly be interesting to match up the DNA, if it is possible to retrieve enough DNA samples from the ashes to be compared with individuals of today and make these tests available to those who would like to make the comparison. How many would like to see this project made available through Family Tree DNA.
