Has anyone heard if, or when, the Genographic records will uploaded to Ysearch?

I ordered my first test through the Genographic Project, and the results offered a chance to download my results both to FtDNA and YSearch. So I'd say every Genographic Project male customer has an option to enter his records to YSearch as soon as he receives them.

If you're asking will every DNA result obtained by Genographic Project testing be automatically uploaded to ysearch, I don't think that will happen. That is a personal decision by each participant, as Eki states above.

I suppose it's possible that they'll put together their own anonymous database of results, open to researchers and possibly the public. But that's not something definite, just speculation on my part.

        Ysearch upload

Ysearch is a public database, so anyone can add their results to it.

I don't believe that the Genographic Project provides the option to automatically upload your results. They do provide the option of joining FTDNA and a FTDNA Surname Project and FTDNA does allow you the option to automatically upload your results to Ysearch.

I hope neither decide to automatically upload every one's Y-DNA results as this is a public database and the choice to have your data there should be your choice.
