Last Sunday, Sept 10, the History Channel aired a show called American Vesuvius. I only caught the last half hour or so of it. It basically was comparing the pyroclastic flows from Vesuvius & the air (& debris) turbulence caused by the collapsing of the 2 World Trade Center towers on 9/11/2001. Some time during the last part, they happened to focus on a skeleton found at Herculeum. They mentioned & showed the teeth which were shovel shaped, & commented on how this was an Asian person who died from the Vesuvius eruption in I believe 79 AD. They also commented on how cosmopolitan the town was, that people of several nationalities lived there. The show is to air once on Sept 16, & twice on Sept 18.

It seems that men of Middle Eastern, South Asian and European descent tend to have more chest hair, while men of American Indian, African, and East Asian, Central Asian or Southeast Asian ancestry tend to have less. Exceptions and variations abound; for example, among Caucasian men, Mediterranean men are known for abundant chest hair while Scandinavian men tend to have much less. Personal experience.
From personal experience I do know that some of the full blooded Native American men that I have met barely had any hair on their bodies, chest or facial. These men were from various tribes. Not sure if this is true for all Native American tribes. Even within their own tribe there may be variations. Maria
