    • N vs M

I've come to look at the confusion of the various mitochondrial haplogroups in Eurasia in a more simplified way. There is a basic division between N/R and M. All those haplogroups stemmed from one or the other. "N", with the subsequent "R" offshoot apparently was based northwest of "M"; i.e "M" radiated out from India (as Cacio pointed out), while "N"/"R" radiated out somewhere in the Mideast or Caspian area or etc. Most East Asian haplogroups today are from M, with the notable exception of haplogroup "B". "B" came from "R", and its movements into (and out of) East Asia would seem to be very interesting, if those movements can be pinned down.

      • What is the evidence of Colonial "American" (not Canadian) and Native Amerindian admixture? I read a studying that 1/3 of all white americans today are about from 2-20% Native American or Sub-saharan African.

I don't know what the % would be but my family is Colonial American and Native American. The Cherokee tribe and many other south eastern tribes are
known for having Colonial America in their genetic backround

B would be very interesting to pin down but more "B" need to take FGS. I just got my FGS results and if there are any "B" out there reading this, please take FGS for MT-DNA.

And PLEASE post your results to GenBank so those researching your haplogroup have access to your data. Your FGS is a NECESSARY piece of the puzzle.

              The GenBank posting is annonymous.

              • The interesting thing is...

The interesting thing about haplogroup "B" is that they branched off from haplogroup "R" about the same time that haplogroup "U" branched off from "R."

It is interesting and some of my X test markers match with haplogroup U so I do wonder if it has any meaning. I guess time will tell.

This is the first time I'm hearing about FGS and GenBank. I found GenBank through a search but I'm not sure where to post results for haplogroup B. Where can I find these?

                    • If anyone has mtFGS results they can be posted to GenBank at no cost and annonymously. When GenBank accepts your FGS they will send you an Accession # that you will enter in order to search the site for matches. Most FTDNA posters use FTDNA as author/submitter so any other searchers can contact FTDNA to broker direct contact with you.

If interested, contact Linda Jonas who will prepare your FGS in the form that GenBank requires: [email protected]

Is mtFGS the full sequence test or is it HVR1 and HVR2? I can't seem to find what the differences are.

                        • FGS is the full genomic sequence for mito, all 16K+ base pairs that includes a re-sequencing of the control region (HVR1&2) and the coding region.

Is it possible for a haplogroup to change with this test? Like, can you go from B to something else?

                            • It is unlikely, in most instances, that one would be assigned to a different haplogroup from an FGS result. However, the result might indicate membership in a subclade, and as FTDNA only offers subclade tests for the largest haplogroups, the FGS is the only way, at present, to discover one's subclade for those not served by FTDNA subclade offerings.

Also, as the coding region is more conservative than the hypervariable regions regarding mutation, a coding region match could confirm an HVR match as regards relationship. And, in the big picture, the coding region is a more reliable guide to mitochondrial and mt-haplogroup phylogeny.

Here's a link to a page that monitors GenBank submissions through FTDNA:

                              • they probalby won't

well I saw where folks were talking about DNA and the native tribes.. I can say that some of the men and women known to be full bloods have sent in their DNA and it is coming back as white.. so as long as they only have the land bridge theory and in actuality you all can not prove that most of Asians lines now being called native American weren't creeping up the shores on the west coast when the whites are creeping in the east coasts , nor can you tell the Asian slaves here and in south America and railroad workers from the toomany " native Americans" that as long as this is going on , I really doubt that any of the tribes will take it even kind of seriously..
because they are not going to be told who they are when no one was listening to them in the first place.

they have been taking native American DNA from here for 500 years.. Prince Maddox may have taken DNA for here too back with him , when he went back to bring his people here. from children of Hudson bay workers or slaves/helpers/ converts of the Priests and thousand s of native DNA lines hiding in Liberians.. not counting all the slaving islands and where all they may have been taken and in untold numbers.. . . and someone on this list said that the dutch did not bring slaves from the USA.. the DUTCH were some of the biggest slave traders and movers in the world .

until they start over and figure out what slavery has done in this world it is all a joke. they can not prove anything having to do with africa or north or south America or Europe either. . it is all a joke. stereo types used to build assumptions and those assumptions used to build and prove theory.. when it is all a joke. if all of the dark natives went into the slavery and the light natives blended inot the whites ( some better than others) .... that only leaves Asians males mostly . ... how totally unscientific is this anyway.
every study I go to ignores U5b2 .. do you know why.. because Europeans define it as African .. Asians defines it as sub saharan. African defines it as European . and now my DNA is every place in too small a groups to trust it is even from there or here. EXCEPT THAT I KNOW MY HISTORIES AND FAMILY STORIES.
but since most of my family has Inca bones and ALL the tribes we could have come from are from south America..
                                they are all wrong.
UNTILL THEY FUGURE OUT SLAVERY ISSUES IN THE NATIVE AMERICAs AND AFRICAN SLAVE TRADES. I DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF IT.

HERE IS A POST THAT I MADE ON A NATIVE AMERICAN DNA SITE.

I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REFIND THE PAPER ON COPPER DEFECIANCY THAT I FOUND WHEN USING MY SONS COMPUTER. IT WAS ABOUT DISEASE OF PEOPLE WITH WITH INCA BONE .

                                --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
my computer is messed up again and so I am using my sons' so I do not have the links for this . but I found a few site which discuss certain diseases with my dna, it is a fragile X DNA line. is what they call it ..
I know about 10 years ago I was reading in the bible and noticed that god told the Jews to use the copper and the iron that hey could find this easily all over Israel.
so I stated changing my cookware and started getting copper cups and cook ware . cheese graters and strainers copper spoons spatula to stir with .AND I WEAR COPPER JEWLERY REGULARLY, BUT i DO NOT WEAR IT ALL OF THE TIME. I also got iron pots to cook with and it has helped a lot.

anyway in the process of finding out about what exactly Peruvian bones . are being CALLED " INCA BONES".. well I discovered that is the reason for my very weird shaped head.. I have never braided my hair because the back of my head is so flat... like a Mongoloid... so I keep fluffy hair to hide it. I also have the Asian ridge it is a heavy bone deposit that runs from ear to ear at the base of the scull which really makes for a ugly head shape.

well there are certain diseases that are associated with Peru bones./.Inca bones
Some things that really struck me besides the autoimmune diseases was "copper deficiency"
I started wondering if the Peru bones is cause by copper deficiency or the results of it or there being a condition/syndrome that causes copper deficiency
so anyone who is a U5b2 or has Peru bones in their heads or anyone in your families please use copper especially when you are pregnant. I know copper is SOOOOOO important for calcium absorption and other mineral absorption .. and I have wiped out an auto immune disease in my goats with higher copper minerals. and I keep them away from foods which destroy copper. legumes and corn /long grasses.

so please natives wear copper OK. OR cook or use utensils with it especially if you have any arthritis in your direct family lines . thanks . you can Google "copper Inca bone " You should be able to find the list of diseases and especially if you are pregnant because we do not know if the bones come from not getting enough copper or is it a condition that causes these bones cause us to not absorb enough copper.. only time will tell.
if god made copper and iron available like he did maybe it was for a reason and lots of us humans need it . in animals the ones who can not hold color in their hair and fade or sun bleach have copper deficiency .... this is true for me my hair does not hold color well. and sun bleaches like the aboriginal of Australia s does. .. but I do not know if this is true of others with Peru bone .

this is the same exact things I was told. that we came from the rising son and to Mexico or south America. THat CHIEF IS ONE OF MYgggg GRANDPA's and where I get my family stories from indirectly.
I ALSO COME FROM ONE OF HIS VERY INFAMOUS.. SON'S SLAVE WIVES WHO BY THE WAY WAS ONCE A NATIVE AMERICAN BEFORE SLAVERY.
her family was in the tuscarora and pohatan related groups slave sales in the 1710's. her storiesand history is why I knew to look there first.. to understand NA slavery first before I tried to figure out what my dna was on that side of the world. I really thought though that we were stereotypically asian enough to have been one of the A- D 's but I always knew as tribes they/many never came from the land bridge. as tribes many came from came from the rising of the sun.

this about U5 markers at 270... the major signature of U5.

I will continue to look to South American for my health and history and dna info no matter what science is calling my mtdna today ..
