  • Viking?

I have my mtDNA results and I am Haplogroup H. WEEEEE.
uh, anyway. What does this mean? On the map they sent me it shows
    Northern Europe. Is that true?

    Thanks,

    RSG

mtDNA-H is the most common haplogroup in Europe and has spread far and wide. I don't think any haplotype of hg H has been linked to Vikings, but neither can you rule out the Vikings.

By itself, mtDNA haplogroup H signifies Europe or the Middle East.

Have you uploaded your mutations to MitoSearch, and looked for matches or near-matches? Can you tell us what ancestry you believe to be in your matrilineal line (mother's mother's mother's mother...)?
