    My wife's results

My wife is a Limbuni (Yakthungma) from Eastern Nepal

Her results from Geno 2.0 Next Generation

    – 2% Native American

Note: In some cases regional percentages may not total 100%

Reference Populations in Geno 2.0 Next Generation database which are most similar to her in terms of the genetic markers she carries

    – Her First Reference Population: Chinese
    – Her Second Reference Population: Filipino

      My mom:
96% Eastern Europe, % Finland and Northern Siberia
mostly Latvian ancestry (lots traced as such into 1700s and some lines even into 1600s), although maybe 8-14% German (but German that had been in the Baltics until at least mid to early 1700s) and maybe a few percent of Dutch and Oceanian.
      -----------------------------------
      My dad:
88% Eastern European, 12% Finland and Northern Siberia

mostly Latvia but has to have had a Finnish ancestor at maybe 2x ggrandparent level or something or other like that (since he has excess hints of Finnish on all tests plus has a few matches on segement of a chromosome that is called Finnish and all the matches list 100% Finnish/Scandinavian ancestry (all but one 100% Finnish)

going by all tests together it seems he has to also have an ancestor or two in family tree relevant time from somewhere in the greater Romanian or western Ukranian region

the R-L20 haplo also implies likely one ancestor from Western Europe

That should have been: "(but German that had been in the Baltics SINCE at least mid to early 1700s)". And for all we know some of that German might have traced to some Eastern European (or maybe even Scandinavian country) too.

In terms of 100% known places of birth all places on my ancestry tree are Latvia.

The two closest reference populations were Russia and Poland but neither are all that close.

Very interesting test. Less than fantastic, but it was still fun to do.

              West and Central Europe: 58%
              British Isles: 34%
              Eastern Europe: 2%
              Finland & Siberia: 2%

Note that this only adds up to 96%... so that's weird.
              First population: Dutch
              Second Population: French

My FTDNA Transfer gave me 73% W&C Europe, 24% British Isles, 2% North and Central American, <1% Siberian.

I am roughly 29% English, 18-19% Eastern German, 18% Scottish, 12.5% Scotch Irish, possibly some native Irish, 8-9% French, 6-7% Eastern European, 3% Welsh, 1-2% Dutch, 1-2% Native American (Geno 2.0 is the only test not to assign me a Native American percentage, I have tested with Living DNA, Ancestry, 23andme, and have done transfers to FTDNA and myheritage)

A grandson, who is ... well, really mixed.

1.1 % Neanderthal (that's what he actually wanted to know)
                mt-DNA: D1
                Y-DNA: E-P277

                43% North America and Andes
5% South America and Amazon (=48% New World indigenous)
                36% Western Africa
                5% Southwestern Europe
                4% Northwestern Europe
                3% Italy and Southern Europe
2% West Mediterranean (=14% European total)
                2% Central Asia and Siberian

West Mediterranean = apparently Balearic Islands/Sardinia/Corsica/the Riviera !!!

The two reference populations they picked were so stupidly inappropriate that I didn't even write them down.

                    My results

                    My ancestry is:
                    3/8 Italy, 1/4 Iran, 5/16 France & 1/16 Poland

                    Geno2 results:

First population reference Basque, Second Iranian

                    Mediterranean 50%
                    Northern European 26%
                    Southwest Asian 22%
                    Northeast Asian 3%

                    Maternal line: T2h
Paternal line: J-CTS3601 (J2 main group)

                    3.4 Neanderthal
                    2.1 Denisovan

The ethnic percentages are by far the most accurate of all the companies I tested with (FTDNA,23andMe,Ancestry,Geno2)

The Iran 1/4 is kind of troublesome to sort out as although my paternal grandfather was born in Mashhad, Iran in 1925, his father was born in Turkmenistan and his mother in Azerbaijan and neither was of the typical native ethnic background of those countries.
