Bumping in case anyone knows the answer to the above question about previous testers. I have 2 Geno 2.0 kits, and am wondering if they will automatically be upgraded to the Next Generation results as well!

    those who have already tested?

Will those who already tested with the Geno 2.0 have their results updated or will they have to be retested using Geno 2.0 Next Generation?

One major question is whether the new test will actually be run by FTDNA as the current one is.

started a topic Geno 2.0 Next Generation (ships Oct. 15, 2015)

Geno 2.0 Next Generation (ships Oct. 15, 2015)

I guess this was just announced and unfortunately product provides
    very skimpy details.

"National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Dr. Spencer Wells and team designed Geno 2.0 Next Generation based on the new technologies and insights that emerged since the launch of the Genographic Project ten years ago. Using a custom-built genotyping chip, we test nearly 750,000 DNA markers, many of which have been specifically selected to provide highly detailed ancestry-related information."

    750K what?
    STRs, SNPS
Breakdown of yDNA, autosomal and mtDNA?

I can't believe that kits are being sold without providing this information
    before hand.
