  • FTDNA and Geno2 haplotree differences

After comparing my haplogroup tree from FTDNA and Geno2,
If I'm reading it right they appear different.
Would appreciate if someone could tell me why.

From FTDNA "MY Haplogroup" page, my tree is,
    P285> P242> M343> P25> P297> V88

From Geno 2 map page, my treee is,
    M45> M207> P231> M343> L278> V88

    Thanks and take care,
    Brian

    Hi,

Those points (SNPs) at NatGeo are major landmarks. They do not include each step in the tree.

      Thanks Rebecca,
Are you saying that the FTDNA snp's are finer points in my tree from V88 back to R. I would expect the snp's to be the same
I don't understand why between the 2 trees,
      M343 downstream is different.
      FTDNA: M343> P25> P297> V88
      Geno2: M343> L278> V88

I would appreciate any help in understanding.
      Brian
