How do stock-propagandist racist polemics against the demonized 'evil beastly Germans' keep compulsively cropping up on a forum dedicated to genetics? Does the not entirely numbed conscience of self-righteous modernity need its scapegoats and subhuman bogeymen, or what?
Although the posts were specific to Hitler and Bismarck, I agree that we need not discuss them unless/until another dictator somewhere in the world rises to power and decides that a particular haplogroup is subhuman and ought to be "wiped out."

For a Russian male, R1a is a good bet, but there are many other y-haplogroups that are pretty big in Russia.
A agree... for example haplogroup N
Haplogroup N in Russia most probably have finno-ugric roots. Finno-ugric population appeared in East Siberia and very likely should assimilate with slavic-speaking peoples thousands of years ago. (crosspost)
It seems there are very few discussions of R1a. I know of a couple of our members who are R1a (or R1a1), but they don't seem to post that much.
Is R1a so uncommon among Westerners that it is in somewhat short supply among FTDNA Forum members?
A project can request its own forum. The Polish(-Lithuanian-Belarusian-Ukrainian-Latvian) Project did so, even though at the moment it's acting mostly like a bulletin board:
Since Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine are arguably more than 50% R1a, and Lithuania and Latvia are about 40% R1a, R1a people are more than welcome to post in our forum.
But as Stevo said, R1a might want its own forum--which is fine too.
Yes, I think members who will have R1a haplogroup and subgroups might want own forum or topic.
I find interesting website about all haplogroups. Links list include also R1a
