Wanted: 'Adventurous woman' to give birth to Neanderthal man - Harvard professor seeks mother for cloned cave baby
Professor George Church of Harvard Medical School believes he can reconstruct Neanderthal DNA
His ambitious plan requires a human volunteer willing to allow the DNA to be put into stem cells, then a human embryo.

George Church, a genetics professor at Harvard Medical School, believes he can bring back Neanderthals after more than 33,000 years - and is looking for a woman to act as a surrogate mother.

Don't look at me, my Denisovan percentage is higher. Let me know when they're ready to clone one of those.

        Neanderthal Breeding?

I have a 3.5% Neanderthal and 3.0% Denisovan...Wonder what would come out of that? I don't think I want to know!

Only a professional sex worker can give birth to a Neanderthal baby.I read somewhere on the internet that they had larger skulls and shoulders.

The story appears in the not so dubious 'Der Spiegel'.

The sought after adventurous woman would be a surrogate mother so her genes play no role, except that her body needs to accept the in-vitro fertilized egg.

Setting momentarily aside the profound ethical issues, the actual birth could be done with a Caesarean section, to avoid issues due to any unusual bone structure in the child.

The way I read the article, a scientist (again) warns that the society needs to make up its mind as to what usage of technology is deemed ethical.
