    Hello,

I've seen names of people who accept 2.0 downloads. Instead of simply sending a download cold, Is there something I should know before hand. My results are at 40% and I want to go ahead as intelligently as I can.

    Please and Thank you,
    Robert McClure

R1b1a2, I shared a mutation at CDYa of 37 and came within a genetic distance of 2 compared with another testee on the McClure DNA Project.

Indicating common ancestor 8 generations back.

When compared to a pedigree of the wife (McClure) of a brother of my 4th great grandmother pointed to John McClure, b. 1665 Northern Ireland (also in the testees pedigree).

Well, I sent mine to McDonald unzipped first and then he requested it to be csv.gz - so I would do that but others might want it unzipped. McDonald said that the Geno data was noisy using his system - he will still do it but would prefer something else like 23andMe.

As far as FTDNA, I would hold off sending it to them right away until they get their IT problem straightened out.

It looks like we are just gonna have to wait for someone to make a third party tool just for the Geno data. Athough I am not sure how well James Lick mt tool is with the Geno data???

James Lick's mtHap predictor seems to work fine with Geno 2.0 data.

I sent him the 23andMe and Geno 2.0 mtDNA results for both me and my wife so he could bounce them against his predictor, and although there were the expected differences in the data(difference in mutations tested, no calls, etc), there was no difference in the predictions.

You emailed him your data? What is his email and did you send it csv.gz or just csz text?

Yes, when Geno 2.0 results came out and he was working on modifying mtHap to support Geno 2.0 data, he was asking for data from people who had tested with both 23andMe and Geno 2.0. I don't know if he's still looking for more samples to cross correlate, but his e-mail is [email protected]. I always send the compressed files.

            Thanks! Can't hurt to ask!
