What panel or markers are used for paternity tests? Just curious, the autosomal panel #2 says it's for informal use.

That's right. You can either go to Family Court for a court-ordered paternity test (that was the case with me and my father), or go on the Maury tv show, or do it privately if the parties are amicable and willing. Maury has a phone number for people who want to test privately. 1-887-DNA-CENTER

A father and son who are both R1b may be proved by the actual paternity test to NOT be father and son.

I think the court-ordered one is best. The dna collection is monitored. And you are granted a legal document called an order of filiation to shnw that you are scientifically and legally father and child. I was granted one. My father was furious and stormed out of court, not wanting his copy.

          Paternity Testing

Family Tree DNA has a relationship testing division, "DNA Findings" that is fully accredited by the AABB for relationship testing. You can visit www.dnafindings.com or call 713.868.1438 and a customer service representative will be happy to help.

            That's good to know.

I just googled Maury. The dna website is www.dnacenter.com
They do all of Maury's testing, and test for tv court shows. The number on the website is 1-800-613-5768.
