By the time I learned the identity of my birth parents, they had been dead for a long time. But the good news is the siblings and other relatives that welcomed me so warmly.

I have a brother on my mother's side that I have known since 1981. Now, thanks to DNA testing, I have a new brother and sister on my father's side.

Yesterday, I attended a family reunion for my new family (my third). In addition to seeing many of my cousins from Michigan, my sister flew up from Texas. I still have my adopted family and now both branches of my biological family.

I feel blessed.

Congrates on locating your birthfathers family and siblings I am in the same boat you are I was adopted out at 3 weeks old- I found my birthmother in 1994 in Fort Worth,TX I just conducted my DNA test to locate my birthfather and with FTDNA I think I found him. I am 42 years old

I am happy that genetic genealogy has helped you locate your birth father. If he is alive and willing, you may wish to confirm his role through a paternity test. If he is deceased but has children, you may need to do what I did and try a DNA sibling test.
