Oh Please......... I have never posted here for anyone to join DNA Forums. There has been no spam from that site. Someone from here complained to Leah and Max saying we were spamming here. They looked into it and wrote me saying there was no problem with spam or advertising from us. As I asked them, show me one spam post from me...... you won't be able to because it never happened.

As for me, one of the databases matches me up with quite a bit of Moroccan Arab. Hmmm.

Alot of the conversations on the autosomal threads are related to the free databases. You can order the markers once and then try them out on several databases that criminologists have put together. The databases are usually samples from people who have been arrested. Who knows, you might find a long lost relative that way. ha ha.

being intoxicated is a far more charitable explanation than the alternative... which is that GVDM behaves in such an obnoxious way when sober.

Anybody who doubts how inappropriate and childish his behavior was need only review the thread in question. Frankly, his insults got to be too much and targeted as they were at a very kind lady - a social worker - I simply told him off and he took the clue and vanished. Thankfully.

Anybody who thinks autosomal DNA is a crock is free to do so, this being a free country - but flaming those who do is not a good advertisement for the alternative board that you keep promoting. It's almost comical, were it not so sad, to think that by insulting people who "waste" their money on such "nonsense," that they will patronize your forum. The sudden appearance of Stevo and GVDM in a thread of a subject which they find ridiculous is more than a little suspicious.

I for one am quite sick of seeing advertisements for your rival board and like others here would like you to stop spamming these boards with nonsense about them.

    Enough already.

Perhaps it was undiplomatic of George to put it that way, but he was just expressing his opinion, which I share. I haven't taken a poll, but I believe that many of the more knowledgeable people involved in genetic genealogy have that opinion too. I base that on some comments I've seen on the Genealogy-DNA list.

But two people, including yourself, responding that George must be drunk, is not just undiplomatic. It's nasty. Perhaps you can see that now that it's been pointed out by someone other than George.

P.S. In case you're wondering, I had 1 beer last night with dinner, no alcohol since then. I believe I'm perfectly sober. (Sorry, couldn't resist. LOL)

    Jim,

Go back to the first page of this thread and see who started a thread that doesn't belong in the "success stories" section. It wasn't Stevo.

But that's neither here nor there. There's 3 pages of postings in this thread by numerous individuals and not one mention of any success story.

For the record, I post both here (for over a year now) and at dna-forums (since August). I also post occasionally at the Genealogy-DNA list on Rootsweb.

    No problem.

To each his own. I prefer the forum you characterized as "lacking" because it has many features this forum does not have, like avatars, the ability to post polls, separate y and mtDNA haplogroup subforums, etc. It is also independent of any one particular dna testing company and has separate subforums dedicated to several different companies. Dr. David Faux of Ethonancestry is a member and regular contributor and often answers questions about that company's offerings, but dna-forums.org is not beholden to him in any way.

I also post on the Rootsweb DNA List.

    But post where you want.

I like FTDNA and have received good service from it. I've been posting here at the FTDNA Forum awhile and will continue to post here from time to time.

But I don't see why one must be tied to a single forum.

This has nothing to do with who is a member of what forum, or both. This has to do with personal attacks on an individual. Things that have been said are slanderous, but luckily most know them to be untrue. I have never said anyone should leave a forum and join another so I do not know where that came from. I am a member of both and post in both. I could care less who joins what. That is none of my business.

OK, I checked those forums and cannot find any "rumblings against ..."another party ". I have been waiting for you to point me at those posts, and you have been online several times since my request with no response. So I must take your accusations for what they are, baseless.

I am also curious why the discussion in the other thread was brought by you to this thread? It does not seem to be a logical place to discuss this matter and seems more like a spite 'thing'. I am sorry you reduced this issue to this level.
