[I would primarily like to know where I hail from, down the ages. Of course I wouldn't mind finding others, that's a given, I just don't know which service is primarily geared towards tracking my lineage backwards. May I bother anyone for a bit of advice here? Thank you for your time.

    Where to start?

    Good afternoon, all,
I have a question that I'll try to keep brief. I read about FTDNA in Newsweek last week and my interest was ignited. The problem is, I don't know which of the services to use. I have little interest in "finding my matches" or "genetic cousins", I would primarily like to know where I hail from, down the ages. Of course I wouldn't mind finding others, that's a given, I just don't know which service is primarily geared towards tracking my lineage backwards. May I bother anyone for a bit of advice here? Thank you for your time.
