  • E3b & H1*

This is my first post, although I've know my results for quite some time. My y-chromosome is E3b, presumably E3b1 alpha since my most recent ancestry is from the Carpathian Mtns in present day Slovakia (Ruthenians/Rusyns). I have no one that matches me (12-37 markers). I'm looking for any clues that the DYS markers might provide (e.g., does a high 389-i and 389-ii really mean something and so on).

My mtDNA is H1*. I have not been able to get any info on this haplogroup at all, other than it is the ancestral state of H1 and probably pretty old. But what does that mean, and most importantly when and where did it originate?

If anyone has even a little info, it would be great to hear from you...

    Re; H1 *

Hello ; I am H 1 *, I think if you look at the sub-clade site & paper entitled " High Resolution MtDNA evidence from an Iberian refugium."@ . Familytree you will get some information about H1* , This sub-clade originally lived in Spain & France & then migrated north.& in your case ,east ? I d be very interested in finding out more as well. There is an H 1 * on mitosearch , listing Russia as the descendants original location. KAT.
