My encouragement is that we consider the long term sustainability of a blogging web site. If the support organization is a small, rag-tag bunch, that may be heroic, but we will probably in for another forum death at some point.
I know we have people engaged with strong programming skills in various web sites but that is not enough.
The investment and support commitment from an vibrant, self-sustaining organization must be present, not just the commitment of an individual. Ultimately, we need longevity, 24x7 availability, backup and archival systems, responsiveness, international access, continued functional enhancements, etc. I/T infrastructure races are won by tortoises, not hares.
