You can run the gedmatch admixture tool on your raw data. If you know the location on your Italian chromosome you should see some pretty significant differences in West Asian and Western European between Southern Italian or Sicilian and the Northern Italians. This is assuming you don't have any Jewish, Greek, Middle Eastern ancestry since those will look the same as Jewish ancestry with the Dodecad admixture tool.

Judy, the vast majority of Italian Americans are of southern Italian origin. If you have any idea of where you were born, look into the origins of the Italian American communities in the surrounding areas to approximate the origin of your birth parent.
