Hi all this is my first post. Well here anyway. bit new to DNA and have ordered the Y111 test. May as well eh. So anyway I realised that there is a hole in my knowledge and was wondering, given the title of the thread if you could answer it.
When sample results specify generations as in "95% accuracy within 6 generations" what does that actually mean. I mean I understand it to be i am one generation, my dad (2nd), grandad (3rd) and so on. So six generations would be about 120 years ago. If they had children every time they hit 20, so not an exact science. Is this understanding correct or is this meaning a different thing. Thanks in advance ....
Oh and btw, hilarious rant at the beginning of the thread, really made me laugh. But I understand both sides of the argument. Censoring is never good. But advertising is obviously (or anything that could be interpreted as such) wrong.
