Dienekes blogged about a new paper: A new future of forensic Y-chromosome analysis: Rapidly mutating Y-STRs for differentiating male relatives and paternal lineages. It describes some newly found Y-STRs that mutate faster than some presently used ones (in forensics). Unfortunately, he only has the abstract. The paper itself is in a pricy academic journal; they want $40 for a single article! Can anyone here access the paper to see if these STRs are already tested by FTDNA, or if they're actually new ones.
