I went into this to figure out if my Lithuanian grandfather was Tatar or Jewish. I don't know about that, but I learned that my maternal Italian line is Jewish.

Based on my interpretation fifteen years ago of the handwriting on my great-grandmother's death certificate, I assumed that her mother's maiden name was Scrivani. I had no other proof for that name.

Decided a few weeks ago to hire a genealogy freelancer to get that great-grandmother's birth record to find out the mother's name and birthdate.

Based on the index file for 1862 and the records, I found out that Beatrice Scrivani is really Beatrice Seidenari, born in 1844.

For my other lines, I have identified other roadblocks, and I am seeking the answers, one small freelance project at a time.

Get real documents! I knew this but I forgot this.
