  • upgrading from 12 markers

Most of my new Y str matches are 12 marker matches. They may be from sur name projects or the new FF deal.

I was going to e-mail some of them to try to get them to upgrade but I dont want to pressure them too much.

I'm hoping that some of my 12 marker matches upgrade if its part of the sale they are having. Hopefully soon the 25 marker test will be around the price of the 12 and the cheapest.

I already had 67 markers done so its hard for me to see what the upgrades are costing now. Are the 12 marker upgrades part of a current sale?

    thanks

I've been kinda hoping/expecting some of those to show up in my matches as well - people who get the 12 marker test as part of the FamilyFinder sale price special.

I have yet to get any new matches that weren't a result of *my* upgrading. Would love to get an unexpected email announcing I have new matches

I got the mtDNA for myself as part of the FamilyFinder sale - the FF results came way ahead of schedule (1/3/2011), but I have yet to see the mtDNA results. so maybe I'll get those new 12 marker y-DNA matches around the time my mtDNA results show up

I have waited 6 years to get a match at FTDNA and have not gotten one yet. But I keep getting matchs at Ancestry and one of them asked me about taking the deep clad test which you can't get at Ancestry. So I wait for someone to test here at FTDNA. blah
