My Mom & Dad are going to have their DNA tested. My Dad was going to have the Y DNA test, 67 marker as well the Indian testing. My mother was going to do the mitochondrial testing for Indian ancestry also. What tests would need to be ordered?

Remember your dad's Y-DNA will only reveal information about his paternal line. mtDNA will only reveal information about a persons, male or female, maternal line. Be sure you understand what each test can provide before you place an order.

You might want to look at Family Finder. FTDNA has plans to provide ancestral origins information as a part of that test, but they aren't doing so yet and they haven't announced a date.

Don't believe all of the unofficial guessing about when it will start. Several people, claiming to have an inside track, have already missed by several weeks.

Todd123 do you mean Indian or Native American? It will make a difference as in my opinion PF will not report Native American tribes but I believe it will report Indian (the non-native american kind) as that is one of the population groups along with Malaysian.

Last inside track I heard was "It is not ready".

If your parents are your birth parents then their Y-DNA and mtDNA test results will tell you what your paternal and maternal ancestral haplogroups are, you do not need to also do that same test yourself. If your father is doing the 67 marker Y-DNA test, the closest one for your mother to do to would be the mtDNA FMS "Mega" test. Finally, the Family Finder test will identify relative matches (if they have also tested) that can be from both your father's and mother's line.
