The effect of population size on the accuracy of the estimate TMRCA, obtained by standard methods of population allele STR locus

    Abstract

Model calculations the influence of characteristics of population development from a common ancestor through the male line to the final (current) population to the estimated TMRCA linear and quadratic methods for the STR locus Y-chromosome. Modeling was carried out using computer simulation develop-ment tribal population within a given number of generations. We obtain universal approximation, allowing to estimate the average adjustment for population-effects depending on the volume of the final population. Do the calculations estimate the age spread of the initial ancestor ancestral population, which arises from the different kinds of population effects. Studied the accuracy of the ancestral allele of the investigated STR loci from a sample of haplotypes from the final population. The algorithm to calculate the TMRCA male (tribal) population in view of its full strength.
