Guest repliedWhen two were so proud of what they created and copied me on emails to relatives proving what a great genealogist they were I took down my page and it's still not available to those that research rather than just collect names.

As I'm sure you've already found, you need a healthy dose of skepticism when dealing with such genealogy sites.
Good luck with your searching. I hope DNA helps you find that European connection.

Guest repliedInteresting....I've been to ysearch from 23andMe and there are a lot more links now than when I was there last.
I have no idea how long the results take once received.

Welcome.
Although you do not have the marker results, you can search by your surname at http://www.ysearch.org/lastname_start.asp?uid=
Also calling your attention to these surname locators:

Hi, I just got here, over from 23andME. They gave me a R1b1b2a1a1d1 which shows 100% European clustered near the North Sea.
I have traveled thousands of miles over the past 25 years searching court house archives, libraries and walking the woods searching old, almost forgotten cemeteries in search of family history. This includes several trips to the LDS facilities in Salt Lake City since our daughter lives there and we can bunk free.
So far i'm back to the mid 1700s in Virginia to a Rev. War soldier. I've copied wills, marriage bonds, military records, photo'd cemetery headstones, etc. and have been at a stand still as to going back in time any further.
We started this journey before the internet was available so a lot of time, expense, and travel has been done.
I still exchange info and names at 23andME but so far had no luck.
Anyway, hello and I hope this test results, when received, will and least get me back to a name and place in Europe.Tags: None
