J2 and HVR1 255A mutation (mtDNA)
I have received both my HVR1 and HVR2 results from the mtDNA tests done through FTDNA. However, I haven't been able to find anyone else in my searches that has the 069T, 126C, 193T, 255A, 278T HVR1 mutations. The one in question is the 255A one. I've seen lots of folks in the J2 group with the same 5 and one or more additional mutations and others with the 4 without the 255A. Many of these have exactly the same HVR2 mutations as I do. Is there some significance to the 255A mutation? Is it unusual? Am I in the wrong haplogroup? I'd appreciate any information or resources you can provide. Thanks!!
