  • Translating my results....

Can anyone shine some light on the results I have?

    I'm curious.

    Something that says:

    Low resolution HVR1...

    H England (5603) - 23

Does it mean there are 5603 people who have taken the test and there are only 23 people who are my genetic match?

    Just wondering what this means.

I read through all the topical information and nothing gives me an answer.

    Thanks for your input.

That's the way I understand it. There are many many people with H out there. My U5b2 is more impoverished that way. Actually, 23 aren't all that many. You must have a mutation or two in HVR1 that is rather rare, or the combination is rather rare.

Me again. You might want to play around with Phylotree & Ian Logan:

Maybe you can get a hint where you fit in with haplogroup H.

Well, on mitosearch you have 38 exact HVR1 matches [today].

It would be nice to do HVR2, and if money is available, the FGS.

          ...
It means there is one block of 5603 samples in the database (likely from a study) and you match 23 of them from England.

When I want to know what FTDNA is telling me on their website I ask them.
