Pretty lavender signature line!

I love your lavender signature line! Could you please tell me how to do mine like yours. I can't get it to work in the edit signature section....All I keep getting is black..

There seems to be a glitch with the colors. The edit signature option used to have a mutitude of color options, but now it's only black. I had wanted a pink. I tried typing that but it was too light/barely visible, so I tried several names and previewed the result. Would you believe some names that should be pink come out green or lime green instead?! And some that should be pink come out too dark. And the word lavender comes out almost white/invisible on the background. Try a few, it's fun. Type watermelon, apricot, cantaloupe, mediumpink, lavenederdarkpinklilac looks blue instead of lilacpeachpinketc. This lavender that I have now was achieved by putting "sapphire" which should be a deep blue instead of lavender. But since it was the closest I could get to a visible pink I decided to keep it.

"sapphire" comes out looking lavender

And to make text very small put size=1

I just saw this posted on Rootsweb site:

which I thought was a very good point by the poster.. I don't know how you can go wrong looking at the CODIS markers..there are thousands in the population databases..and still you need to make some assumptions.
I am glad and satisfied with what if have learned from DNA Tribes.It continues to evolve and for $25 I can have new samples run every time they get a bunch of new populations that are relevant in.

You always have to evaluate results in every test you take.There are NO crystal balls out there yet but many of us have taken our bits and pieces of results and made scholarly conclusions from them.
No magic wands though..

Ladies, it is my painful duty to ah,rain on this parade, I mean using unnecessary colors online. We enjoy a surprisingly good speed in the discussions on this forum.
Images and especially colored ones greatly increase the number of bits that have to be transmitted per second in electronically conducting any message.
If we stick to communicating our thoughts mostly, (and clearly), in plain text our ease and speed may survive the increasing overcrowding and that is traffic-jamming the poor old aching WEB.
And it is also good for the vocabulary.

Ok, I'm not fully familiar with this, but can someone explain the value of these "tribes" tests when most people taking these tests aren't remotely close to any one specific group and when most modern countries, especially in Europe are a mix of migrated tribes all over the continent, blended over the course of centuries upon centuries?

To me, these "tribes" scores seem like some sort of artificial computation relevant, to, well, nothing. The "tribes" aren't based on historical, actual "tribes", and even if they were, no one is remotely close to any one, anyway.

But, maybe I'm wrong so feel free to educate me on this further...

By the way, DKF also uses a nice blue on "his" signature line...The world is full of color including the world wide web! Love it too.

Response: No personal criticism, I like color too, in fact it is necessary for some purposes; also I couldn't live without it! When it doesn't slow things down. (See the gold ancient Celtic coin attachment on this thread.) But I try only to use message color for a specific communicative image, hopefully contributing to keeping delay on the web to the minimum.
That's why I don't use emoticons, avatars etc. on the fora. I think all your posts are very instructive and intuitive!

Elaborate formats? Color signatures? I never see them due to the receiving options I chose.
On the receiving end, one can control what shows, in order to speed up reception, but on the sending end don't be surprised if your messages are slow getting there, and in your recipients'downloading.

From the instructions on Options for FTDNA Forums:
"You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts."

Take your choice!
